Car seat safety

This is Ava and Connor's first car accident. They were riding with me to the bank and Ava's seat started to tip over. It wouldn't go back because the seat belt had been pulled fully out. (you know when it clicks and then won't go out anymore until you let it all the way back in) Anyway...she was really tilting and we were on Southfield at a stoplight...I leaned back and unbuckled her to let her seat back to a normal position. The belt didn't go all the way back through the seat just enough to relieve tension until we got home. About 30 seconds later we turned a corner and the rest of the way home was like this. Needless to say Christina and I went out an bought seatbelt clips, to keep them from tilting our kids, the next day. (Connor is obviously enjoying this.)

The funniest part about this picture is Connor's expression. What a hoot!

This happened to me before, but is wasnt the seatbelts fault - it was mine, I just forgot to buckle it. Glad everyone was okay! connor looks like he enjoyed every bit of it!

I just remembered a funny carseat moment. Actually, the same thing happened to Luke, but I was alone in the car and he was in the infant seat, facing the rear. It was 2 Thanksgivings ago when Chris' dad was in Henry Ford Hospital downtown after his heart attack. Actually, I think I had just had lunch with Christina. Anyways, I took the wrong exit downtown and was totally lost. I was trying not to panic, when I looked behind me and realized that Luke and his carseat were on their side! This kind of freaked me out because I wondered how long it had been this way. And, he was completely silent, so my mind conjured up ridiculous scenarios, like his seat belt choking him or something. So, I reached behind me and straightened the seat out. Then, I started sticking my finger in his mouth and squeezing his cheeks until he cried out so I knew he was ok! He was sleeping. What a spaz.

Greetings Mike Sherf, I received your e-mail today. IT has been a long time. So you finally hunted me down. I guess that witness protection program really doesn't work. Guess I better go hide again.
