Ava had had enough by Saturday. We went to see Grandpa and Granny B and she took a long nap with Granny B in the rocking chair while watching Finding Nemo.

Even though Ava couldn't keep formula down, she had french fries and chicken strips from Wendy's for Sunday lunch.

Back to normal!!! (almost) We thought Ava was doing a lot better Sunday evening and monday morning, however, when she ate monday morning she could not keep down formula again. Keep in mind she had been doing great with other solid foods. I called the doctor and expected some advice on how I could better introduce the formula to her diet or something like that, instead I heard, "she needs to be seen right away!" How scarey for a mom to hear that. I said, "I'm sorry, I may have made it sound more urgent than I needed to, are you sure I need to bring her in?" "yes ma'am, she needs to be seen!" So, at 3:45pm the tallest Doctor I've ever seen saw Ava. He held her up to listen to her lungs, which i'm sure is the highest she's ever been. (Dr. beaman was not available that day) SO...he said that sometimes when babies are sick and can't keep milk down for a few days they become slightly lactose intollerant and then can't keep milk down even after they are sick. He gave us a sample container of lacto free powder and said that by the time it was gone she should be back to normal. He also said that he was a little concerned because she had lost a pound!!! how sad is that!?!!? BUT...anyway...I took her home and gave her the new milk which she drank a small amount of and went to sleep because she was so tired and had no food energy. but when she woke up, she was eating pretty well. I have slowly mixed her regular formula in and started to taper out the lacto free. Today she had two totally regular bottles and is doing fine other than being a little bit sleepy. As you can see in the picture, she is eating like she never stopped.

We are so happy our little aviator is feeling better and keeping down her formula. We are also happy that you did not include a picture of Granny B in that rocker because we know how hidious she looked after missing a week of school and laying on the sofa. Love you guys!!!
poor little av!
i hope she doesn't stay lactose intollerant. we always made fun of those kids. :-) just kidding....she sure looks cute even though she lost a pound!
I'm glad Ava's feeling back to normal. We had so much fun playing at your house Friday morning. Thanks for letting us stop by!

We're glad to hear little Ava-Bava is feeling better. Lactose intolerance = no ice cream = life not truly worth living! So give that little cutie a milkshake! (At least, that's Uncle Tim's advice!)
