A couple of weeks ago we went up to the cabin to hunt with mom and dad (Tally). Uncle Paul and Papa were up there for one night and then left the next morning after not seeing much. Then Nathan, Christina and Connor came up which was exciting for Ava to have a friend.
The boys hunted and we watched movies and played ms. pac man and read books, blah, blah, blah. whatever we could find to do actually. So Mike missed a buck the first day which was really far away, he only took the shot JIC. So he wasn't too bummed about that, just bummed that it wasn't closer. Then the next morning he missed a deer that wasn't super far away. Then he was bummed. I felt bad for him but it was a hard shot to take I guess so, he did well just getting set up to take the shot without getting 'caught' as they say.
Following tradition they took shots at Mike's hat from the distance he missed the deer. It did NOT get hit. My dad and nathan both missed his hat!!!! (Of course my dad was aiming for a small brown spot at the bottom to show off, and the hat was resting on the arrow when mike went to get it so...he got as close as possible without hitting it.) I guess the deer was head on to mike so he only had a spot about the width of his hat to hit which means those two knuckleheads wouldn't have hit it either.

Ava was sitting by a very small fire and doing pretty well considering how cold it was outside.

She didn't keep her hands in there long but I thought this was so cute.

well, i guess that's why they call it hunting and not killing. i hope his father-in-law wasn't too hard on him. he really is a great son-in-law!
Mike you are weird.
that is cute, hands in pockets. if you think i'm reading all that stuff at the top, you're nuts! ;-) LOL
Don't worry, its all about hunting. I'm glad you would tell me though. to be honest if I don't get to the internet for a while I find even the pictures overwhelming, not of your kids of course.
