my baby girl ava turned three on may 23rd.
she is so precious to us.
mike and i can't believe we have two beautiful healthy girls.
when i was pregnant with ava i had my appendix removed...the doctor said when he took it out it was bad enough that had I waited through the night to go to the hospital she wouldn't have made it. i love to remind my dad of that, b/c he told me my pain was pregnancy related and that i needed to toughen up or go get a room at the hospital for the rest of my 9 months. only my dad would say that, and only i would love that story that much. i love my dad dearly (am i betty lou already?) and i wouldn't trade his ways for all the money in the world. he has made me the tough mom that i am and i thank him for my well behaved little ava....that he almost killed.
SO....needless to say, ava is a blessing to us. we think back to that night in the hospital when we could have lost her, and to the night in the hospital when she was born, with great thankfulness to God for all that he has given us, especially for her. we don't deserve these great girls.
Ava's birthday was fun but I enjoyed it so much i didn't take pictures...my friend beth did so I will get those later...but for now I will list things about Ava that I LOVE!!!
I love that when the four of us are together ava calls us 'you guys' like we are a little club.
i love that she is well behaved but will call someone a terd (mike told her to the other day)
i love that she is so expressive and closes her eyes when she is thinking about what she is saying
i love when i ask her how she wants her hair and she says, 'just, whatever momma's looks like is how i want it'
i love that she wants her nails done ALL the time and she wants all three of us girls to have matching nails ('lie too' she says)
i love that she asks to pray for her lamp every night
i love that she can recite proverbs 31 and that she especially likes that the virtuous woman never lets her lamp go out at night, b/c ava thinks her lamp shouldn't either
i love that she knows, word for word, the just one bite episode of spongebob, and that she likes spongebob
i love that she just started to like pony's without prompting from tv or friends, she just really likes horse stuff (my little pony, horseland show, the horse my papa bought her, anything)
I love that she misses mike so much, everyday, b/c I do too
I love how gentle and loving she is with liela, she is the best with her
i love that she loves the outdoors so much. she would take a campfire over a movie any day
i love that she is so girly

This is just precious, Nicole. I am glad Ava had such a great birthday! You do have 2 pretty special girls & Ava especially is so well behaved. I think all the time I I can just train MaKenzie as well as you have trained Ava then I will be doing good:)

so THAT'S where he got it.... connor has been randomly coming in to wherever nathan and i are saying, "hey you guys. whatcha doin'?" i'm sure he learned it from av. :)
Krissi- you will be a great mom when makenzie is old enough to be a bad girl =)
Erica- you are not alone in the tears, I can't believe how big ava is. seeing and saying she is 3 makes me feel like i'm going crazy. i keep thinking of more things that I love about her too...I may have to do another one of these posts.
