funny kids..to their own mom anyway...

Ava: sometimes, I just have rough days.

Liela shut her finger in the dryer...the door opens down not sideways, you know what I mean? anyway, she let gravity pull the thing up and it pinched her finger pretty bad.
Liela: OW! (no tears)
Momma: Oh, are you ok baby? Did you hurt yourself?
L: yeah, finger.
Ava: Liela, are you ok?!?! (major distress from sister)
L: yeah, finger.
Ava: oh did you hurt yourself? let me kiss it.
L: ok, finger. I ok.
(not so much funny just fun to listen to my girls have conversations with each other)

Ava was getting ready for something and needed her purse. She couldn't find it and then,
"suddenly, I found it mom!"

Ava also told me that Liela was utterly funny. I don't know how much she understood about that statement.

Liela was in nursery Wednesday night and Kate Dobbertin was dropping off Will. She had a baby doll and they were asking her if she had her baby. she just kindof looked at them, then they said, "this is Katie's baby." to which she replied, "that's Will!"

Ava does a great job for me in the bathroom. I let her go all by herself. She wipes and washes her hands like a pro...but she has to have momma or daddy take care the wiping for a certain type of potty break, you know...anyway. SO, the other day I was in the basement and she went up to go. She shut the door for "privacy" from liela who wants to know what is going on ALL the time. I then couldn't hear her yelling, "momma, I went poopoo!" So Liela came down and relayed the message. "Momma, Ava done poo poo. All done, help Ava."

Ava: Momma, do you know what it means to be sobbing? (which comes out with a 'Z' sound)
Momma: Yeah, what do you mean though?
A: It means that I'm at BB and Grampa's and they turned off all the lights.
(apparently at bedtime of the last sleepover they didn't know that ava uses a nightlight, and it was quite traumatic for her. I of course called my dad and let him know what Ava associates with "szobbing")
THEN:
She said, "Do you know what it means to be frightened, it means to be afraid."

They other day Ava came down and asked how she looked. She had put "makeup" on. She took a chapstick thing that mom mom gave her and rubbed it all over her eyes, you know, eye shadow.

WOW...lots of stories today...

Ava: Mom is claire coming over tonight for dinner?
Me: Yeah.
Ava: Are Dave and Beth coming too?
Me: Yep.
Ava: are they going to bring Macy?
Me: yes.
Ava: yeah, because if they left her at home...that wouldn't make any sense! Why would you leave a baby at home, they couldn't feed themself and they would die!
