Here is Ava's cake that I made her. It's no Nemo cake but I think it was cute. I almost went to the cake shop that my mom goes to to get some decorations and I thought...when they eat this cake, I will not be pleased that I spent a lot of money on it...so I just used food coloring and did it myself. Now that it is devoured...I'm happy with my oh so wise decision. =)
Here comes the cake...everyone start singing! Ava has been practicing too. She sings happy birthday to herself whenever she thinks of it and asks us to do the same. Mike generally complies because he isn't with her all day...I on the other hand say, "Ava, you can sing to yourself, I am done with happy birthday."
Now, when Ava does her 15 happy birthday's in a row at home she ends the song with cha cha cha and a nice firm blowing out of the candles. Today, in front of a real candle, she decided to blow it out through her teeth, you know, like she was saying the letter 'f.' You can probably tell that from the picture, which is why you also see Mike and I trying to speed the process up by actually blowing out the candle.

Now lick off the candle.
She is going to think that a birthday means you get presents for a week or two instead of just a one day celebration. Probably because from the party last friday with Grampa and Granny B until today's party, a week and two days later, we have reminded her that she is two and we are celebrating.
Ava's new tricycle. She could almost reach the petals and after we got home I moved the seat forward so she should be good to go. I think that's just how you want a new bike...barely reaching the pedals so you know you didn't waste any growing before you got it.
Thanks Grandpa and Nana!
