Lunch with Papa

Today was Ava's lunch with Papa. Every year he takes his grand and now great grand kids out for a birthday lunch. I really get the best deal because it's not my birthday but I get to go with them and have a nice lunch too. At 11:00am papa picked us up and we were off to Cabela's. We ate at the Applebee's right there where I got the pasta alfredo I have been craving. At Cabela's we got to see tons and then we drove to the Sanders place in wyandotte for ice cream. It was an all day experience and I got to pick papa's brain all the way. Ava got to pick his wallet with her lunch, horse stuffed animal and ice cream. We got home for a nap at about 4:00pm.

Ava has been telling me that she needs to go potty so I decided maybe I should start to potty train her. Here is her first experience on a public toilet.

Yes, there was a seat cover on and NO, she didn't fall in...thankfully.

Looking at the fish. The lighting was terrible for my camera...even the 'scene' settings were no help in there.

Papa and Ava walking along.

The moose in the middle of the fish pond. She loved all the animals and papa was telling her all the names.

More fish.

Ava was very independent on these rocks but she let papa help here and there (not momma though).

Ava and Papa checking out the center mountain of animals. The bear by the edge was the only thing she really acted afraid of.

Oh, brother. Papa was going to get Ava a present from cabela's for her birthday...we ended up with this horse. I am learning to be a good mom by letting her pick what she likes in these situations. Papa somehow knew she would like this and she hasn't stopped getting excited and talking about her new horse since we got home.

This was her on the ride home...at least 30 min., until she fell asleep.

then the horse was just nearby.

Thanks Papa!
