The Boys Baseball Game

For those who don't know...my cousins Daniel and Joshua played baseball for IC this year. They played in the state semi-finals on Friday. It was in Battle Creek, I was potty training, I am just about 9 months pregnant....I knew I couldn't go...no matter how much I wanted to. Then they won. The whole time the game was going my mom was calling me with updates. I was so excited for them the whole time they were winning and then when she called and said they won I became the extremely pregnant version of myself and started to cry. Not because I was happy for them (which should've probably been my reason) but b/c I knew I couldn't watch them in the state finals!!! I was so sad. We ended up calling my doctor...at home...and getting permission. I wish they would've won but I'm glad I went either way. I was also glad that neither of my cousins got the last out. Joshua and Daniel were batting with one guy in between. The guy before Joshua got the 2nd out so the odds were I was going to feel really bad for someone. Joshua was walked and the next kid popped out. I'm sure Daniel would've liked to hit a home run and kept things going but I was glad he didn't get up to bat.

Here are our seats...pretty good if we had actually sat in them. The first few innings were fine and then I started to feel the stress. I was getting to into the game and tightening my stomach to much...I had to get up and move around.

Ava just saw this picture and said, "Joshua. Joshua play baseball!" After 3 months or so of going to see Joshua and Daniel play 'basketball' b/c I couldn't get her to remember baseball for some reason...she finally gets it....with pictures from their last game.

We saw Daniel before the game...he looked the most relaxed of the Dorans.

Team gathering before the game

Warming up. You can see the fence where we stood after the first few innings. Ava was pretty well behaved but after sitting through 3 innings of the game before us it got to be a long time to sit on laps.

Both of my cousins getting ready to go...definitely the best looking players on the field, even if their uniforms are hideous.

The National Anthem

Are the pants really that different? Why does Daniel have his by his ankles and Joshua looks like he is playing at greenfield village? Nice hole by the way...I used to have a hole in my pants...not in the butt though. That doesn't seem baseball related.

The fun part for Ava was 'riding' this dog and other animals on a merry-go-round that didn't actually go round. It was in the shade though and toward the end it was getting pretty hot out there. I was fine with making Papa watch her since he just popped in through a gate that somehow didn't have a ticket counter on the other side.
