You know the subject matter...
Ava has been doing annoyingly well. She tells me all to often that she has to go potty. I am tired and as Joshua says 'huge' so, it's a little hard to run to the bathroom with her. I do it though, probably for the sake of my carpet more than her advancement in society.
Last night we went out to get a few misc. things. I had her in a pull-up b/c I didn't want to worry about an accident. I didn't ask her if she needed to go b/c she has been coming to me so well. We were out for a while and I thought, she must have gone and not said anything but when we got home she was dry!!!! I couldn't believe it. Yesterday was accident free, yeah!
Today was my dr. apt. I haven't ever taken her before and don't plan on doing it again but most people were either working, out of town, or going to the boys baseball game. My apt was at 8:30 so I thought she would be good this once. She was again in a pull up but this time she did have to go, or so she thought. In the waiting room she was fine, then after I had to go to the bathroom she realized that she could too. She then had to go three times in about 20 minutes. I didn't want to teach her to go in her pants again so we went. Thankfully after my doctor came in she shied up and sat quietly while my doctor and I talked.
So. Maybe you read the comments, maybe you didn't. If not I had to post this, it was too funny. I was replying to Erica about how well this book worked for me. Ava came over to me and asked to get up on my lap. Through curious George I could see it, POOP!!!!!! Not much though. I told her the whole potty in the potty speech and then made her go up there where she finished up, better than nothing I guess. In her defense, at the dr. office our three visits to the bathroom were false alarms of #2, apparently prompted by some gas. She would get in there and get up on the toilet and say..."I don't have to go potty anymore momma."

I hear they have to be relaxed so I let Ava play with an old phone while she sat there for the first few days. 20 minutes on the toilet can be a little much for a kid.
Ava knows about camera phones!!!

Ava likes to get her pic taken so when she saw me plugging in the camera she asked me to take these. Thanks to Mike I would say.
CHEESE!
Ava's Bathroom Comments:
Nicole: Ava did you go potty?
Ava: NO, I don't think so.
(After letting Jackson in the house)
Ava: Good boy jackson, you go potty like a big boy.
Ava: Poop, Momma. That's disgusting! Clean it up, Momma!
Nicole: Ava do you need to go potty?
Ava: No, I eat chips.
Ava: No, I read book.
Ava: No, I play with daddy.
Ava: No, you go potty.
(the following are all while she is on the pot)
N: Ava, can you please try to go potty?
Ava: Momma, see my ocopus?
(that's octopus which is featured on a toy in the tub, she is very easily distracted)
(keep in mind when she goes I get all excited to encourage her (not hard to do) and I say, "can you hear it, your are going potty, GOOD JOB AVA!")
We can hear people outside the window pulling a wagon.
Ava: Do you hear it Momma, I'm going potty like a big girl!!!
N: No, honey, that's people walking outside.
Ava: I hear it!!! I'm going potty!
N: Ava, that's outside, you aren't going potty. Do you hear them talking?
Ava: I don't think so?!?! Do you see my ocopus?
(talk about ADD, she is pretty random)
(once again)
N: Ava, can you try to go potty?
Ava: Momma, did you see my pony!? (referring to the pony on her underwear)
N: ya, I see it. Can you try to go potty?
Ava: You talk to granny B? (pointing to my phone)

how's PT going this week? Still getting to save $$ and not buy diapers? I hope so.
It is going well. Only a couple of accidents but nothing to buy diapers over!!! I found out that I don't care if she has an accident as long as it is rare enough that I am saving money. I'd rather wash two pairs of underwear everyday than spend $1.25 on diapers (25 cents each you know). She is doing really well. I would call it an accident even if she is in the bathroom and just doesn't get ALL of it in the right place so...its probably going better than it sounds when I say 2 pairs a day...anyway...
yeah! way to go - both of you! :)
