Potty Training

Monday was go buy more underwear with my mom...thanks mom....and get some snacks for when she did well and went TO the potty IN the potty. Today was the big day!!!!!!!! She did horrible this morning. I almost quit before lunch. It was comical though so I had to put it on here for the fam who all got to go to Daniel and Joshua's game today while I cleaned up.

10:00 a.m. we started off with a wet pair of underwear. 10:30 a.m. POOP!!! Sickening!!!! When I was changing her she stepped in it and started to cry (I would too). It was so sick. More wet underwear before her nap and I was almost ready to stop. She hadn't made any effort on her own and I was thinking she just might not be ready. After her nap she told me she had to go so I grabbed her and ran to the stairs I was so excited that we might make it for once. (She had gone on the toilet when I put her there and she had told me she had to go and not made it but never told me she had to go and then held it until we got there) So anyway...I get upstairs and started to take off her underwear while I was running into the bathroom...POOP AGAIN!!!!! And this time it fell all over the bathroom. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! I almost cried but Ava always manages to say something hilarious and make me feel a little better. I got her on the toilet and she looked in disgust at the scattered 'stuff' on the floor. She said, "poop momma, that's disgusting! Clean it up, Momma." I said, "you pooped your pants, you clean it up!" She was totally grossed out but I made her put it in the toilet.

So...tonight as soon as Mike got home he took her up there for a bathroom break before dinner and she went for him. I was pretty excited. Later on it finally happened. Ava came to me and said I have to go potty. I said ok, lets hurry and she made it onto the toilet. YEAH!!!!!! I know that tomorrow will feel like starting over when she has to be reminded in the morning but the fact that she initiated gives me hope... WE WILL SEE!!!!!!!
WEDNESDAY:
I have not posted this yet so we have two days of typing, hopefully no one is confused. It is Wednesday morning and I was going to just push the publish button but while logging in to blogger Ava came to me and said, "I have to go pee pee." I couldn't believe it. I find it hard to think that I might not have to buy diapers for over a month!!!! I do want her to get to the point where she does the underwear and everything on her own, but right now I will settle for a dry, clean, inexpensive bathroom experience.

Oh Nicole! I totally keep putting off the whole potty training thing! I keep telling myself that Gavin isn't ready. Well, you have inspired me! Maybe I will attempt it. Good for you for sticking with it. That was such a funny story!

Erica,
I borrowed a book from my friend called potty training in less than a day. We both used it and our girls are potty trained pretty well. Both were coming to us on their own within the first couple days for sure. As I was typing this Ava pooped her pants....I wish you could see a video of the last 5 minutes.

Suzanne,
You take your time. If diapers weren't going to cost me like $70 every week or so, I would probably have saved myself the trouble for a little while longer.
