Intelligent Conversation

Here are a few things Ava has been saying lately. I am her mom so I am obviously thinking she is super smart no matter what she says or does. I know mom's with young kids often long for adults to talk to...I do too...but sometimes Ava comes close.

We were at my parents house Sunday for lunch and Ava had her blanket with her. When we got in the car it was down next to her seat where she couldn't see it. She said to Mike and I, "Oh no! I forgot my night night at grampa and GrannyB's!" I was shocked that she remembered she had had it there and then knew that it was just forgotten.

Yesterday Liela had her two month check-up. When we were leaving I told her we had to take liela to a dr's apt. She said, "with doctor Beaman?" Yes! Then when we got there we were in the exam room and the conversation went like this...

A: momma is doctor Beaman coming in here?

N: Yes, this is where he is going to check Liela out.

A: Is this doctor beaman's house?

N: No, this is his office...this is where he works.

A: Does he work here with daddy?

N: No, Daddy works at his office.

(a little later)

A: Momma what's this?

N: that's for your blood pressure.

A: my blood pressure?

N: yes.

A: does it go on my head?

N: no sweetie it goes on your arm. (i was holding back on laughin' at her just picturing it wrapped around her head)

Today we were upstairs on my bed and I was letting Ava color her Nemo book.

A: Momma see my nemo book.

N: yeah, that's cool babe.

A: I coloring this page. NO, no, actually I coloring THIS page.

Downstairs at the table Ava found Mike's deer call. She blew it and started cracking up. She then said, "Momma, did you hear the deer sound?" Surprised that she could remember that (I guess mike told her what it was last night) I asked "what did you say?" In a pay-close-attention kind of way she says, "listen." She blows it again and says, "that is what a deer sounds like" Thanks for the lesson Av.

Believe it or not Connor was cracking up at Mike when he picked him up like this. The shirt was just right for it.

Ava was getting ready for bed with a little powder...nice.

Every Monday when Connor comes over my living room explodes. It's OK though...its surprisingly easy to clean up and it occupies them.

So does playing beauty shop.

Connor was actually on the phone with Laura while he got his hair done.
