Sorry Buddy!

Before we begin our story...I just thought this pic was cute.
ok...so....

We had a little accident today. I got up pretty early (for me) and decided to take the girls on a walk. I misplaced my phone so I decided to go to Christina's and ask her to call me periodically through the day so hopefully I would hear it and find the thing. She decided to come walk with us...she had to go the mailbox anyway. SO...we walked a while and then stopped at my house to do some phone searching. After a few calls and me not hearing it we sat down to relax for a minute. I looked over to the stairs going to the basement and saw Ava gently pushing Connor down the stairs. We live in a tri-level so it was not a full set but still...it was quite a few. Head over heals the kid had no control, he managed to land in a relatively pain free way but YIKES!!!
Christina ran down to his rescue and Ava and I ran up to be disciplined. I spanked her a few times and then sent her to her room for the first time. (Let me tell you that it wasn't an I hate you push or anything. She was guiding him, like she usually does, only they were headed downstairs.) When she is 'guiding' in the living room it's easy to say, "Ava, let him walk on his own...he doesn't need you to help him." When she guided him down the stairs...she needed some major discipline to make sure it never happened again. So, spankings and off to her room it was. Connor wanted to see her after he got a blanket and some medicine. I let her come out to say sorry and she immediately said in her dramatic voice, "I soooorry Connor. I need medicine too." Then she gave him a hug and quickly went to the mirror to see what she looked like while crying. What a drama queen.
After they left she kept saying, "NEVER push by the stairs...its DANgerous...NEVER." Later during lunch she told me, "Momma, I pushed Connor down the stairs. I got a spanking and Connor was crying too. You NEVER push by the stairs." Hopefully that means my excessive amount of discipline worked to really hammer home the importance of stair safety.

This is Ava's newest look. She has had some wicked reactions to mosquitoes so I have to put hydrocortizone on them right away and give her bennadryl or she swells pretty bad. The bandaids are to keep her from rubbing off the goo. Last night I thought they would come off right after she got into bed but amazingly they were still on this morning. I took those off and had to put more on b/c on our walk with Chris and Connor she got two more bites.

I am watching Connor today and when he first got here Ava was still asleep. Connor and I hung out on the couch for a second and he told me some things.

"Ava push Connor. Ava was crying. I on my head."

"Daddy at church, with Bible. Jesus and God...Amen."

Then I went upstairs to collect some laundry and I hear downstairs...

"Hey NICKY! NICKY!!"

Saving the best for last. What do all the toys connor played with have in common...that's right...distinctively girl toys. To make Christina feel better I must admit he was singing handy manny and periodically, and randomly might I add, screaming, "FOOTBALL!"

A lovely dora purse

afternoon cup of tea anyone?

Ah, my make-up brush
