SO....here's my experience with baby megan's arrival.
monday...christina calls and asks me to watch connor wednesday for her dr's apt. "sure" I said. then she says "nathan really wants to go with me b/c I have been feeling some contractions today but nothing consistent...just those random things that happen toward the end." then she said, "he thinks we are going to the hospital but I know its no big deal...I will make it at least to my apt." So, I was a little excited thinking maybe...but I know how irritating it is at the end when every move you make people think you are in labor. Ava who hardly talks about megan yet was running around the kitchen saying, "baby megan...here is baby megan...baby megan" I didn't tell her that christina called or may have her baby or anything like that....weird. So I sort of forgot about it. flash to 5:30ish the next morning. Mike's phone rang which is what he uses for one of his many alarms and he turned it off thinking it was his alarm. two seconds later...my phone rings the tone that is just for my sister's fam. Somehow I woke up and knew I was supposed to be excited. I didn't think through the whole megan thing but I was alert enough that I know I sounded like I was already up. Nate said he was bringing connor over. I'm sure I said something stupid like, "right now?" and then I was like ok, we're ready. So connor got here (mike and I were waiting on the porch...I was SO EXCITED!!!) Nathan and mike took in all the 'stuff' for connor and I stood at the car and said good morning to my sis.
Nicole: hey, how are you?
Christina: ok, I didn't get any sleep last night.
N: so how sure are you?
C: pretty sure...if they send me home I will be ticked.
EVEN MORE EXCITED!
I told mike that my sister would probably rather have the baby at home than go in and be sent home...that is a bit of an exaggeration but you get the point...she was going to be REALLY sure.
So I already posted the conversations we had with connor when he was here which you can read below. i was waiting to hear something. then at 8:19 Nathan called to tell us (and mostly so his boy could know I'm sure) that MEGAN WAS HERE!!! 7:56 am megan paige was born and SO CUTE.
I waited for my mom to get here...she took connor with her to get my dad and mike and I took my girls to my aunt claudia's house...b/c its rude to take your kids up unless intentionally invited by the person in the hospital (just a side note...please no hate mail about that...and at the risk if being in even more trouble...did you know its rude to go to the hospital as an uninvited adult too?! well it is.)
So...we dropped the girls and went to get everyone lunch. we got to the hospital and I got halfway to her room...I FORGOT THE PRESENT!!!! I literally ran back to the car and got it...whew...I had thought '5 minutes to baby megan' and then to have to take 4 extra minutes (which it was mike timed me) to run back to the car was rough...I was so excited to see her. they (my tally fam) say christina wasn't the cutest baby. Connor who is super cute at this point in his life...just looked like a baby when he was born. (As we walked up mike actually said, "I hope she's not crazy looking." to which I replied, "My sister is always pretty...she looks the same at church or right after having a baby. She will look great I know." Mike said, "I mean megan.") So...like I said...we were excited to see what this baby looked like. I walked in and saw the third prettiest baby ever...my girls are tied for first.
(in christina's defense on her rough looking baby pics...they also said I was beautiful when I was born...and when I see my baby pictures...all I see is UGLY. I don't think they were the best judge of looks.)
I turned connor over to my parents at this point and got to hold little megan for a while. I went home and waited for my sis to put pics up so that I could do the same. YEAH...nate posted pics....so I put some on facebook. Now I am babysitting Connor waiting for them to come pick him up and take him home to the new world of having a sister. And now my sister is calling me. Here are the pics.

I agree that it is rude for an adult to show up at the hospital uninvited. I'm glad you said it. Thanks for the baby megan story and the pics!
suz- I know...I have had it happen to me more than once and it was never a 'pleasant' surprise. I hope I will have more pics of her soon!
